15/03/2018 - Class Assembly
We have been working really hard this week using the space in our classroom to practise for our class assembly! We have settled in really well into our new classroom in the Juniors and have enjoyed coming back to school this week. We hope to see you all at our class assembly next week, we are really looking forward to showing you all our hard work!
13/03/18 - Class Assemblies
You are invited to our class assembly on Wednesday 21.03.18 at 2.45 in the infant school hall. Your child will be bringing home a poem and some words to learn. As we have missed lots of school time we have not had long to practise and are asking for your support in helping the children prepare for these. We did not want to cancel as we are looking forward to the opportunity to share our wonderful work with you!

01/02/2018 - Florence Nightingale Visit
We have been having lots of fun learning about Florence Nightingale and have been very lucky to have had a visit from the wonderful Florence Nightingale this week! We really enjoyed learning more about Florence and her life and got the opportunity to ask her lots of interesting questions.
21/02/2018 - Chinese Cooking
Today we have been lucky enough to have been visited by two chefs who have helped us to learn about Chinese cooking. We have worked together to cook a vegetable chow mein. We carefully used the utensils and practised our chopping skills before cooking our vegetables and noodles to create our dish.
20/02/2018 - Chinese New Year Celebrations
We have had lots of fun learning a new style of dance this week with the wonderful Dancing Darren. We used props and music to help us to explore Chinese dance.
09/02/2018 - Clay Houses
We have loved learning about The Great Fire of London and have created our own Tudor clay houses. To create our houses we had to first mould the clay into a rectangle, before cutting it into a square and cutting a triangular shape for the roof. We had a lot of fun creating them and had to be very careful not to slice through the clay when adding fine details.
06/02/18 - Safer Internet Day
We have been thinking about safety online. We explored some of the https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/5_7/ website. We then discussed how we could make the internet a safer place and we recorded our ideas. Your child will be bringing theirs home to show you so please discuss this together. There are lots of resources to explore on the website, if you have access.
24/01/18 - The Museum of London
We are on our way home - worn out but we've had a fantastic day.
It is time for our workshop, we are going to find out more about the story and the artefacts.
We have been learning all about our capital city and the important things it has achieved.
London had to be rebuilt and we are in the Victorian walk exploring what it looked like.
We are fighting the fire!
We are historians! People believed that these not so lovely smells would protect you from the plague. We are pleased that the fire played a part in destroying it!
We are listening to extracts from Samuel Pepys' diary - he is telling us exactly what happened!
We are exploring artefacts and paintings which give us clues about what happened in 1666.
24/01/18 - Museum of London
We are on our way to London! We are very excited to visit the Museum of London and the Great Fire of London exhibition.
05/01/2017 - Welcome back Penguins!
We have had a great first couple of days back and are looking forward to a new term. Thank you again for all your generosity over the Christmas period. Mrs. Morement and I very much appreciate all your cards and lovely gifts, best wishes for 2018!
17/11/2017 - Telling the Time
This week in Maths we have been learning how to tell the time. We have learnt how to find o'clock, half-past, quarter-past and quarter-to. Telling the time can be a difficult concept for the children to grasp, in light of this any time spent at home practising would be greatly beneficial!
Thank you for coming to our assembly! We worked really hard and hope that you enjoyed it!
06/11/2017 - Fruit Rockets
In our Design and Technology lesson this week we created fruit rockets. We had to carefully select, cut and arrange the fruit to create a fruit rocket. This activity was also linked to our healthy living topic in Science, where we have been learning all about how to keep ourselves healthy.
03/11/17 - Bonfire Sparklers
This week in English we have been learning about how to follow, read and write a set of instructions. Today in our English lesson we followed a set of instructions to create our own glittering sparklers for Bonfire Night!
17/10/17 - Photography
This week in our computing lesson we have been learning how to take and edit photos. The children have been developing their understanding of what makes a good photo and have been using apps to edit their photos.
16/10/17 - Pointilism
This week in Art we have been learning about pointillism, we worked very hard to carefully paint pictures using cotton buds. We used bright colours and took our time to create beautiful pieces of artwork.
12/10/17 - Diwali Dancing
Today we have begun learning about and celebrating Diwali in school. We had a very special visitor, Dancing Darren! We learnt about Diwali and took part in an Indian dance workshop, we had lots of fun!
Mrs Hoffman and Mrs Foulser would like to say a big thank you for the vouchers you kindly gave at the end of the Summer term. We had a great night at Felix restaurant on Saturday - great food, great service and we even allowed Mr Hoffman and Mr Foulser to join us!
09/10/17 - Fruit Trees
This week in Art we have created fruit trees! We have learnt how to safely chop up a range of different fruits and have used our imagination to create an image of a fruit tree on our plates.
06/10/17 - Debating
This week we have been developing our debating skills in our PSHE lesson where we debated as a class whether or not we should get rid of school uniform. The children worked hard to debate their points; drawing on both facts and opinions to build their arguments.
29/09/17 - Poetry
Here are some videos of the children performing poetry this week as part of National Poetry Day. The children have performed in groups, pairs and individually this week, we have some great performers!
This week in our English lessons we have been learning about poetry to celebrate National Poetry Day. The children have performed and written poems this week around the theme of freedom. I was very impressed by the children's creativity and enthusiasm and ability to work as a team during group activities.
27/09/2017 - Exploring
We have been having great fun in Science this week exploring our topic of trees! We have been developing our observational and problem solving skills by measuring the trees in our school grounds using metre sticks.
25/09/2017 - Anthony Goldsworthy Inspired Art
We have had another exciting Art lesson! We have been outside creating tree rubbings and collecting natural materials for our Anthony Goldsworthy inspired collages.
22/09/2017 - Money
This week in Maths we have been learning about money, we have been trying very hard and have been using resources to help us to recognise coins and to find monetary values. Money can be a challenging concept for children to grasp, in light of this, to help us to keep learning please could you encourage the children to handle and pay with coins at home to extend their knowledge and understanding of using money in real life contexts.
