Homework and Reading Information
Year 2 homework is set weekly on a Friday via Google. Log in to Google Classroom with your child’s details. When you have completed the homework activity please send it to your child’s class teacher via Class Dojo Portfolio.
We ask that you hear your child read 4 times a week. When reading with your child please use the bookmark to ask comprehension questions, encourage them to sound out new vocabulary and model how to read fluently with expression. Once the Homework Diary has been checked we will award children with a Dojo point.
Spellings Information
On a Monday, spellings are tested and new ones are given. We give 5 words each week, building up to 10 words across the fortnight. Please practise and revise together at home. We ask you not to write in the spelling books please.
PE days
On PE days, children should come to school wearing their school PE kit with their hair tied up and earrings removed. PE lessons may take place outside during the Winter so please wear a plain tracksuit during these months.
Class Dojo
Please contact your child’s class teacher via Class Dojo as this is our method of regular communication. There is a weekly update posted to the Dojo Class Story every Friday. These updates include important year group reminders, the learning objectives for the following week and Child of the Week celebrations.
