Aims
At Ardleigh Green Infant School, we aim to inspire and motivate pupils to develop intellectual curiosity, as they embark on their learning journey with us. We offer high quality teaching and learning, enabling pupils to develop a sense of awe and wonder, as they explore our setting. We take great pride in our spacious and well-resourced classrooms, conservatory and outstanding outdoor provision. We have a positive approach to behaviour, guiding pupils to become well-rounded, responsible members of the community, valuing themselves and others. We nurture the children as they develop relationships, learn to regulate their emotions, articulate their views using full sentences, and become confident, independent individuals.
The Learning Journey
At Ardleigh Green Infant School, children begin their learning journey in Reception. Initially we follow a carefully planned transition timetable consisting of ‘stay and play’ and independent sessions, so your child can become familiar with their new learning environment and build effective relationships with all staff across the setting.
If you are considering Ardleigh Green Infant School as the school for your child, we warmly welcome visits during our prospective parent tours, where you can have a tour around our wonderful setting, meet staff and ask questions.
How do I know if my child is ready for school?
We recognise your child’s first day at school is a huge milestone, not only for your child, but also for you as parents/carers. Please feel assured that we spend time getting to know the children during their first term and we are always happy to help if you have any questions or concerns. Every morning your child will be greeted on the door by members of our fantastic EYFS Team, to help them feel settled and ready for a busy and exciting day ahead. Sharing books together as a family and developing self-help skills such as recognising their name, dressing and undressing, feeding themselves with cutlery and toileting independently, are some of the ways you can support us in helping your child to settle quickly and feel happy and comfortable in their new setting.
